Dr Jonathan James​

The youngest son of well-known Asian Evangelist, the late Dr G.D. James, Jonathan James is currently based in Perth, Australia. Dr. James directs a task force of some 200 national missionaries in 10 Asian countries and has established AEF’s training schools in 4 Asian countries, under the umbrella of the Asia College of Ministry (ACOM). Jonathan is the Radio Teacher of Destiny Radio, broadcast through the HCJB Radio network to a potential audience of 1.8 billion people in Asia. He is a graduate of the University of Singapore and holds an M.A. in Telecommunication and Media from Columbia College (USA), an M.A. in Biblical Studies from Talbot Theological Seminary (USA) and a PhD in International Communications from Edith Cowan University in Australia. He served as the Associate Pastor of the well-known Swanston Street Evangelical Church (Melbourne, Australia) for two years and is affiliated with the Brethren Assemblies as member of the Epping Gospel Chapel in Sydney. A gifted communicator, Dr. James has preached and conducted seminars and conferences in several Asian countries, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji Islands. Dr James is the author of two books How to Communicate on Target; The Great Deception and the Joint Editor of the book That Asia May Know. His recent publications include McDonaldisation, Masala McGospel and Om Economics, based on the phenomenon of transnational televangelism in India, and A Moving Faith: Mega Churches Go South. Dr. James is also an accomplished singer, guitarist, and worship leader having released three worship CDs: I am the Lord, My Covenant and Exalted. Two of the original songs from the My Covenant CD made it to the top in the UK Gospel charts for several weeks.

Dr Ray Dallin

Dr Ray Dallin holds a Doctorate in Education, EdD and a Master of Commerce, MCom from the University of Western Australia (UWA) and a Bachelor of Commerce, BCom (Hons) degree from the University of Alberta, Canada.

He currently has two part-time positions, the State Executive Officer for Christian Schools Australia in Western Australia, and is the Academic Principal at Sheridan College in Perth. Sheridan is a small Christian college in the start-up phase working toward accreditation in Education, Business, Science, and Humanities. It is registered to offer a Graduate Diploma in Business.

Dr Ray’s work experience includes: eight years as Executive Director of Kingsway Christian College, six years as CEO of Rehoboth Christian College, three years at the Graduate School of Business at Curtin University as a Senior Lecturer and Director of Executive Programmes, and five years as Manager, Executive Programmes and a Senior Lecturer with the Graduate School of Management at The University of Western Australia. He also spent twelve years as a lecturer at the School of Management at Curtin University and five years in private industry – as a Marketing Director in new technology and in marketing research as the State Manager of Reark Research Ltd, a national market research firm.

Dr Ray is currently the Chairman of the board of directors of AEF International, as well as the Tabor Bible College in Perth. He was also a past national board member of Mission Australia.

Dr Ray and his wife Sheila have four children and ten grandchildren and attend Coastal Community Baptist Church.

International Communications Director

Pastor Matt Hall

Pastor Matt Hall is a part time Co-Pastor of the Scarborough Baptist Church in Perth, Australia.

Educated in Canada, UK and Australia, Pastor Matt has a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree from Perth Bible College. He has had extensive social work experience working with marginalised communities and has served in mission boards and ministry movements in the UK.

In 2015, he commenced a part time ministry with AEF International as Training Director heading up the Asia College of Ministry (ACOM) which has centres in Malaysia, Nepal, Myanmar and Indonesia.

At the 2019 AEFI conference, he was appointed as the International Training Director for AEF International, as well as having responsibility for developing partnerships and working committees throughout Australia.

Matt is gifted in the areas of expository preaching and pastoral care.

International Consultant Director East Asia

Dr Met CASTILLO

Dr Met Castillo is a well-known church and mission leader in the Philippines and Asia. His consistent advocacy for obedience to the Great Commission and his involvement in missions have earned him the title “Mr Missions”. He has held a number of teaching and leadership responsibilities in theological schools and he was the founding President of the Alliance Graduate School in Quezon City, Philippines.

Dr Met was the Field Director of Philippine Crusades (now Philippine Challenge), the Manila-based ministry of O C International. His ministries include: training and mobilising Filipino and other Asian missionaries; Executive Director of the Missions Commission of Evangelical Fellowship of Asia; founder and General Secretary of the Philippine Missions Association, and catalysing sending structures among churches in Asia.

He has written a number of books and articles on missions and church planting including Lets Plant Churches, the Church in Thy House, and Get Involved, Developing a Church Missions Program. He was the editor of Philippine Missions, Mission Asia, and Philippine Church Growth News, newsletters for local and international readers. He is a regular speaker at missions conferences and seminars in the Philippines and other parts of the world. Dr Met has had meaningful cross-cultural experiences in Mindanao, southern Philippines, India, Singapore and the USA. As a resource missions speaker and lecturer he has travelled to many countries around the world.

Dr Met served as the President and Professor of Missions at the Great Commission Missionary Training Centre (GCMTC), which he founded in 1994, a post he held until 2013. He is currently Academic Dean and is dedicated to the training of Asian workers for cross-cultural ministries. He currently holds the position of International Consultant Director for AEF International’s East Asia region. His role is to mentor, train and guide the leaders of this region.

Dr Met holds a BMS from Ebenezer Bible College, BD degree from Union Theological Seminary, India, and a Th.M. from Asbury Theological Seminary, Kentucky, USA. He also holds an M.A and Doctor of Missiology (D.Miss) from the School of World Mission at Fuller Theological Seminary, California, USA.

Born in 1935 to a farming family in Ilocos Sur, Philippines, Dr Met came to know Christ as his Saviour and Lord at age 14 through the ministry of a Filipino missionary, from whom he received his initial missions orientation. He and his wife Inanama, are the proud parents of three children, Leah Joyce, Met Jr. and Donna Hope, who have given them six wonderful grand children.

International South Asia Director/ Development Director

Rev. Edwin Ponniah​

Rev. Edwin Ponniah is the Executive Secretary of Asia Evangelistic Fellowship India (AEF) and also its International Director for South Asia. Born in a Christian family in Tirunelveli district, Tamil Nadu, South India. He is currently based in Mumbai and a member of Methodist Tamil Church. Rev. Edwin gives Leadership to missionaries and volunteers who are spread the Gospel in the states of Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. His specific area of Ministry is preaching, Teaching, Leadership, Encouraging and Administration.

He has completed his theological studies (B.Th., Senate of Serampur) from South India Biblical Seminary, Bangarapet and Missiological studies (M.Div.) from Union Biblical Seminary, Pune. He has been trained through the National Leadership seminar by Haggai Institute, Advance Mission Leadership Seminar by IMA and Management Seminar by CIM. He has also participated in six International Summits held by BILD, IOWA, USA. Presently, he pursues D. Min. in Global Church-Based Theological Education (GCBTE) through Antioch School of Church Planting and Leadership Development which is accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC) Washington DC.

He served as the Assistant Director for a well- known Missionary Organization called Maharashtra Village Ministries for 24 years. He has preached in many Churches in India, UAE, Bahrain and USA. He has committed himself for the Missions.

His challenges are to train all the present missionaries who are serving through AEF, increase the mission fields in Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and send missionaries to other states. Also, to start ministry in Asian countries.

He is married to Vasantha and they have two children, Judson and Jerimson.
