AEF International (AEFI), founded in 1960 by well-known Evangelist and Missionary Statesman Dr G.D James, is a mission dedicated to the spread of the Gospel through the strategy of training Asian and Pacific Rim nationals to reach their citizens. Many thousands have become followers of the Lord Jesus as a result.
AEFI is not a ‘sending mission’, rather it mobilises and equips national evangelists and missionaries to reach out to their own people groups. It does this in cooperation with local churches and other missionary agencies throughout Asia and the Pacific. It continually identifies and develops new ministries, particularly to unreached people groups.
Today AEF International, led by Dr G D’s successor, his son Dr Jonathan James, is one of the largest national missions in Asia and has more than 200 national missionaries and associates serving in 11 fields. AEF International has an ongoing work in: India, North East India, China, Nepal, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam and the Solomon Islands. AEF’s ministry thrust continues to be evangelism and missions.
AEF International’s strategy of Asians reaching Asians is far more cost effective than traditional missions. Indigenous missionaries are linguistically and culturally sensitive to the needs of their own peoples. In some countries where the door is closed to foreign missionaries this is the only strategy that works effectively.
AEF International’s major ministries are evangelism, discipleship and church planting; additional ministries include theological education and community development in the forms of education centres, schooling and orphanages, a hospital, medical clinics and medical missions, as well as economically self sustainable programs such as agricultural farming produce and infrastructure projects such as roads and water supplies.
When you partner with AEF International you partner with Christ in changing the lives of Asians.
